Golf in Chicago Featured Courses

Mill Creek Golf Club is an affordable, moderately challenging course that should make for a good day of golf for every skill level. Slopes range from 118 at the white tee to a 130 at the black tee on this par 71, 6,400-yard course 45 minutes west of the Loop, in Geneva Ill. It features bent grass throughout and its many sloped greens will challenge your putting skills. This course also boasts some great views of the Fox Valley.

Thirty minutes south of Chicago lies the famed Pete Dye designed, Ruffled Feathers Golf Club. This showplace features 114 bunkers to test your skills along its 6,898 yards, and challenges even the best golfers with its slope of 140. When it opened in 1991, Ruffled Feathers was selected as the best new course in the state, and continuously ranks high in a state filled with great courses. Prices vary depending on the day and time, but a course will generally cost around $100.

Tamarack Golf Club in Naperville, IL is a deceivingly flat course that makes use of man-made slopes to challenge your skills and nerve. Its many bunkers and use of water to test you ability to feather a shot onto the greens will keep you on your toes for the entire length of this 6,900-yard, 130 slope course. Its only 44 miles from the loop, so it's definitely worth a drive. Some other courses we recommend in the Chicago area are Kemper Lakes Golf Club, Glen Club, Harborside International, Pine Meadow Golf Club, Thunderhawk Golf Club, Seven Bridges Golf Club, and many, many more.
