Public Golf Courses Palm Springs - Must Play Layouts For Every Golfer

2016/7/19 15:56:53

This time of year things begin to heat up in Palm Springs, but it also means some great deals for golfers as courses look to fill their tee times. This area has well over 100 courses to choose from, but here is a closer look at the top places to play for those not affiliated through a country club.

Desert Willow has two of the best layouts in the desert. Firecliiff was designed for the better golfers and host several Mini-tour events, including a stop by the Pepsi Tour. This course is long and mean with several forced carries and over 100 bunkers, but the terrific putting surfaces and views of the surrounding mountain range, this course will become a favorite for the more skilled golfer.

Higher handicap players will appreciate the same beauty playing the Mountain View Course. The white tees measure at just under 6.100 yards and has a course rating at 69.8, but don't be deceived, errant golf shots will still find trouble, but the golfing experience will have any player coming back for more.

Shadow Ridge Golf Club will remind visitors of several Australian layouts, but the Nick Faldo design is located in Southern California and boasts some of the best putting surfaces in the region. With 89 bunkers and several water holes, this challenging layout has something for everyone. Golfers will need to bring their best short game as the greens have several fall off areas and deciding what shot to play at the pin will determine what kind of score players will shoot.

Silver Rock Resort played host to the Bob Hope Classic from 2008-11 and plays at a massive 7,528 yards from the back teeing area, but with several different tee boxes to choose from, players can and will enjoy a total golfing experience at the course situated along the Santa Rosa Mountains. Silver Rock has the look and feel of a private club with its great customer service and hospitality, but visitors from all over can enjoy the experience of playing one of the best golf courses in Palm Springs with a simple phone call.

Desert Falls Country Club is a semi-private course that opens fully to the public in the late spring through to the fall. This links style layout looks and feels like your playing in a different country with plenty of different shot selections needed based on the wind. While the course is top notch, the clubhouse and staff are exceptional and the overall experience will be one that is remembered for years to come. This venue is great for groups and they will make you feel like your special with the customer service approach which is second to none in the Palm Springs area.

Summer time can see prices drop significantly as several courses in the area can be played for around $50.00. For those who don't mind a little heat, bring your clubs, plenty of water and get ready to have a blast at some of the best golf in the country.
