Improve your golf game with free golf lessons

With the number of participants and spectators alike on the increase it seems that golf is becoming more and more ingrained into society. Where once the sport was one that was only really played by middle class men, now there are people from all walks of life trying their hand at the game.

Because the game isn't too physically demanding and relies on patience and technique rather than physical attributes, virtually anyone can have a go, and it is likely that this is part of the reason why golf has become so popular. For many people golf is appealing for the social opportunities that it brings, or even simply for the idyllic scenery that commonly surrounds courses. Whether you're the next Tiger Woods or just want to beat your mates then there's no doubt that you could benefit from golf lessons.

As in many sports, each individual tends to develop their own playing techniques, and although this might allow you to progress faster initially it may leave you with some bad habits. Unfortunately there is not one set method of playing that will deliver results for every type of player, although this is not to say that there aren't some general moves that will help your game to progress.

For players who have a reasonable amount of experience it is likely that they will have already identified their strengths and weaknesses. The chances are that they'll play to their strengths, and naturally the game is more satisfying the better you can play it. However, while it is a good idea to try and play to your strengths when you're competing, practice time should be used to improve on the weaker aspects of your game, remembering that you're only as strong as your weakest link. So if, for instance, your swing action is off when you're driving, then spend a session just working on that one aspect. This may be tedious and seem like you're not improving but it pays off in the long run.

Building and fine tuning these types of techniques can be quite time consuming and requires patience. It is more than likely that you will only improve in small increments, which are not particularly noticeable. A positive mental attitude is also something that goes a long way, visualising the shot is often effective, and becoming frustrated will usually hinder your game. By having a professional coach you will be able to identify the issues which are holding you back, and give specific attention to improving them.
