What are the rules when it comes to golf club dress codes?

Golf is a great game and can bring people much enjoyment. It doesn't matter what stage you are at or how long you have been playing for either, as it can still bring people together when playing this peaceful sport. No matter the weather people always seem to be out there on the golf course perfecting their game or just having a good time with their friends. The one thing that can really cause heated conversations when it comes to golf is what types of clothing you should be wearing. Many people believe that the dress code should be a certain way at golf clubs and the different clubs out there have varying rules for their members.

It doesn't really matter too much about what it is that you wear as it's not really going to affect your game. Obviously, it's not a good idea to wear heels and you should always dress according to the weather, but generally what you wear won't stop you from playing well as it would in other sports. You should always follow the rules of your golf club when deciding what to wear though, as they seem to be able to get the final say on what you should be wearing, not only on the golf course but also in the club house as well. It can seem rather old fashioned but it seems people like this way of traditional rules and they all abide to them.

One thing that most golf clubs do agree on is the ban of jeans and trainers. This is just to ensure that everyone is dressed smartly. They know that you can wear these types of things and still look smart but more often than not it can look at little scruffy and this is what golf clubs want to stay away from. Also, another thing that is often seen in the rules at a golf club is that shirts or tops which have a collar are always more accepted when playing than those without, which is why most people always follow this rule.

In the past the kind of golf gear that was out there was kind of out dated and it seemed that you could only wear boring colours that don't really suit everyone. Now, as more and more people are getting involved in the sport, no matter what their age or gender is, there is a lot more choice and you can dress correctly and stylishly on the course.
