New Balance... Golf Shoes

2016/7/19 16:19:22

When you think of golf shoes, a few different shoe companies come to mind. The first one is Nike... I mean, if Tiger Woods wears them, they must be good right? Well, don't be so sure about that. While Nike is spending millions of dollars so the likes of Tiger wear their products, New Balance is quietly putting together quality products for guys like you and me. You know... Guys that think the best part of golf is driving around in that little car while drinking beer at 8:30 in the morning... Seriously though... While New Balance is known primarily for their running and walking shoes, this Boston based company is slowly but surely making a name for themselves in the golfing world. So what exactly do they bring to the table? Well, that's exactly what this article is about.

First of all, I think it's worth talking about why New Balance is such a unique company as far as athletic manufacturers go. As I mentioned above, they don't really spend any money on marketing. Instead of spending all sorts of funds on flashy advertising campaigns, Ping K15 IronsNew Balance chooses to do a lot of research and development. This is evidenced by the fact that they are now one of the leading walking shoe manufacturers in the world. I also quite like New Balance's "Made In USA" policy. That's right. This company doesn't out source any of their labor. Everything they do is done right here in America.

Golf shoes are quite unique as far as shoes go. They have to be classy, yet still have the features that a regular sport shoe has. Now while a lot of NB's products have a very modern look to them, they took good care with this new golf shoe. The 1275 looks elegant and traditional. Under the hood, however, you'll find a whole bunch of unique features that make this shoe comfortable, stable, durable and functional. Here's a quick look at some of the technology you'll find in the 1275's.

First off, it has New Balance's patented ABZORB technology. You'll find this feature offers almost a shock absorbing action in the both the heel of the shoe and the forefoot. The 1275 also comes standard with EVA foam mid soles. This is great for long days on the golf course, especially if you're walking it! Nothing is worse than having sore feet after the 7th hole - "Hey Jim, you think we should get a cart when we finish the front 9?"

All the features mentioned so far are found in quite a few different New Balance shoes. There are, though, a few features that are quite unique their line of golf shoes. One such feature is the Poliyou antibacterial inserts. These basically serve as way to keep your shoes smelling fresh, Callaway Diablo Edge Ironsregardless of how much time you spend hacking your way out of the rough. It's not really crucial that you have this feature on a normal running shoe. On the golf side of things, though, it's a nice bonus. The last thing you want is to have smelly feet when you're playing a round with your boss or co-workers. Another feature found on the New Balance 1275 golf shoes is the Dri-Lex sweat control system. This, as the name implies, controls sweat. These shoes are also waterproof. Now, I don't know where you live but where I am it rains a lot. With these shoes, at least your feet will remain dry throughout the round. Heck, you may even start to like golfing in the rain!

So are the 1275's the best golf shoe available? I'm not sure about this. I can, however, comfortably say that they are great. It will take some time, but I believe that one day New Balance will have a big share of the golf shoe market.
