Playing Golf The Smart Way

Golfing is a great pastime and hobby. You've worked all week and can hardly wait to get out on the course for a couple of good games with your friends. Before you begin your game, don't forget to warm up. You may think you play all the time and are in perfect shape. This may be true, but you still need a few minutes to get the body in gear for the game. The pros will be the first to tell you the importance of warming up before you begin playing. Not only is this vital for your body, but it's also required to assure you of having the best game possible.

In the wintertime, you may drive your car every day, but you still start it to warm up the engine. This is good for the car at them moment as well as adding longevity to the life of the motor. Our bodies are very similar to our automobiles. Many men have been known to have heart attacks on the golf course, and lack of a warm-up period may have prevented this from happening.

Golf may seem like a very slow-paced sport because you're walking rather than running. It is still a very strenuous sport, mentally as well as physically. There are different ways you can warm up. You don't have to do it at the course. You can swing strokes at home before you leave or wait until you get to the course to practice. Some golfers will deliberately park away from the course so they can walk for the exercise. From some, this type of warm up works best. Others will get a bucket of ball and just continue hitting them until the bucket is empty. You may wonder what the difference is when either way you're swinging the clubs. The difference is that an actual game of golfing is putting more strenuous moves on your body than practice.

Regardless of how often you play, warm up is still vital. If you've ever watched a baseball game, every batter picks up the bat and swings it a few times before stepping up to the plate. They know the importance of warm up. Playing golf is no different from baseball or any other sport. If you want to play golf and play it well, then play it smart. Nothing would be worse than having to sit in the clubhouse or sidelines watching your friend play because you've pulled a muscle.
