Easy Steps To Improve Your Golfing Form

2016/7/19 16:22:58

The best golfers in the world have both power and proper form, though many seem to focus on how long their long drive is. It makes sense. The stronger the hit, the less hits it may take to get to the hole. However, it often comes at a price - their form.

The problem with dedicating yourself to a powerful swing is that the amount of distance you gain is sorely outclassed by the decrease in your accuracy.

Stronger swings tend to have a less stable form and thus can actually be physically dangerous to the user, especially if they're older. This is universal - it doesn't matter who you are, you'll get hurt if you try to do something that isn't good form.

Most players who've tried can tell you that it only took a few weeks of play to make convince them to go back to their original style.

New things aren't always good things, especially if they end up taking away far more than they actually give you. Technique has always beaten sheer strength - in golf, it remains the rule remains relevant. Being able to aim the ball is a lot better than being able to hit it hard enough into a forest to lose the game.

The hole-in-one is nice, but it's hardly consistent, if at all possible in many holes. The best golfers know how to adapt to the golf course at hand. They're well trained enough to figure out what they need to do in order to win. It's not a bad idea to emulate that philosophy.

Power in itself is not bad, but throwing away skill just to hit harder is a sure recipe for failure. If you've got it - use it. If you don't, don't give up your form just for it.

These are just some of the many things you can do or be aware of to help improve your golf game.
