Some Common And Crucial Golf Cart Parts

2016/7/19 16:24:17

The combination of different golf cart parts makes up a single functioning unit. If you own a golf cart, then you won't need an encyclopedic knowledge about each and every type of part of the golf cart. But you should know the basics.
Here are some of the main parts that you may need to replace during the lifetime of the golf cart:

1. Battery
Quite literally, the battery is the life of your golf cart. A trained professional can determine if your battery can be fixed--or if it's beyond repair. You should also have a battery charger with you, in case you need to give your golf cart's battery a jolt.

2. Brakes
It's important to keep in mind that various golf cart parts comprise the complete brake system. So "bad brakes" could actually involve one of several different components, including cylinders, pins, pads, and so on. If your golf cart has brake problems, it's crucial that you or a trained professional determine exactly which parts you need. Otherwise, your golf cart could end up somewhere you don't want it to be.

3. Engine
Whether to replace your golf cart's engine or the vehicle itself, can be a difficult choice. But it's one that you may need to make for older units.

4. Fuel Pump
A fuel pump helps to ensure that the level of your golf cart's fuel is appropriate. Leaks of the fuel pump are somewhat common, so it's advisable that you keep a spare one handy in case you need to replace it.

5. Headlights
You should make sure to have replacement headlights for your vehicle, in case you need them. It's impossible to know when your current headlights will burn out, so it's better to be safe than sorry.

6. Keys
Golf cart keys are no different than house keys, or car or truck keys. Sometimes we lose them! It's highly advisable that you secure a spare set of keys, in case you lose the originals. Keys don't cost much, but you won't get far without them. So make sure that you have one or two extra copies.

7. Tires
These are some of the biggest and most crucial golf cart parts of a golf cart. It's important to have a set of spare tires with you, in case you get a flat while on the greens. Also, there are different types of tires for different types of courses. So you'll need to know which one you should purchase for your vehicle. While sometimes fixing a tire simply involves patching up a leak in the tube, other times you'll need to replace the entire unit.

If your golf cart needs repairs, then you'll need the right parts. These aforementioned ones will help to keep your cart on the greens, and out of the repair shop.
