Ideas For Golf Tournament Gifts

One of the fun parts of playing in a golf tournament is the goody bag! Of course golfers love the atmosphere of a tourney and if it is for charity, most are glad to be a part of the fund raising. But golfers also love going through the golf tournament gifts bags to see what treasures are inside.

If you are hosting or running a golf tourney, one of the things you need to cover are these bags. "Lame" gift bags can turn players off and may prevent them from returning to your event in the future. Good bags may be talked about long after the event and make for good word of mouth.

First of all, you want to select a good quality bag. What you put the goodies into is important and is a great place to put your logo. If you go with plastic, choose high quality, think, sturdy plastic. An even better idea is a cloth bag. With everyone wanting to "go green", these bags may be reused many times. This could be a great way to get your name seen by multiple people.

Getting your name on a few of the items is part of what the gift bag is for. Try not to put your logo on everything. Just a few things with your name is sufficient. Common ideas for logoed stuff include marking pens, ball markers and hats. Once again, giving good quality items will keep them from ending up in the garbage.

Other inexpensive ideas for your name are mouse pads, golf tees, small towels, golf balls and can coolers. There are a few cute coolers that hold individual cans and also have a spot for tees, coins or other small items. Check online for discounts on great bag stuffers.

In addition to your personalized goodies, you can also include a few things from other sponsors. It is not a bad idea to call up a few local businesses and inquire about donations for your event. Many restaurants will be willing to provide coupons for discounts or free food for the participants. Other businesses can offer discounts, free trials or other incentives.

Get creative when adding new sponsors. Most golfers love free food and drink. Single serve packaged snacks and mini bottle of water or sports drinks go a long way with the players. The more good stuff that finds its way into the bags, the happier the players will be and the better word of mouth coverage you will get in the long run.
