Golf Swing Drill To Improve Your Golf Swing

2016/7/19 16:25:07

I am guessing you're here since you would love to learn how to improve your golf swing. Everyone knows the best way to improve your golf swing is to practice but the thing most golfers get stuck on is what is the right way to practice? After all if you practice the wrong way you are only going to adopt bad habits which will hurt you in the long run. I'm going to supply you with some golf swing drills to give some aid with your swing.

The right arm golf swing drill is one of my favorites. Basically all you have to do to perform this drill is to hit some balls with your right arm only (keep your left hand in your pocket). Sounds simple right? Well it is, but what's important is what this drill can do for your normal golf swing. Simply doing this little drill is going to help you add some width to your backswing. One thing to remember is when you are doing this drill you are not trying to kill the ball, you have to perform light swings making nice contact with the ball.

One other great golf swing drill you may practice is keeping your head down once you swing. Many inexperienced golf players feel as if they must check where the golf ball is going immediately after the swing but this is a huge mistake. You are supposed to be keeping your head down throughout the swing.

So for this drill you are just going to go out and hit some balls but your are not even going to pay attention to where the ball is going. Just focus on your swing and keep your head down. Again, you shouldn't try to look where the ball is going. For this drill we don't care where the ball goes.

One more fundamental golf swing drill to attempt to utilize is the no arms swing. This one is good because you can do it at home without a club. All you are going to do is setup in your normal golf swing position but instead of holding a club, you're going to fold your arms across your chest area so that your hands are up close to you shoulders. The point of this drill is to show you what your swing is supposed to feel like without your arms getting in the way (which they like to do). This will help you feel the motion your body should be taking during your golf swing so next time you pickup your club just try to imitate the motion as if your arms were crossed again.
