Justin Rose Wins WGC – Cadillac Championship

Winning three prior PGA Tour Tournaments the Cadillac Championship makes it four for Justin Rose as of Sunday March 11/2012. Born in South Africa in 1980 this Englishmen comes close to his European Tour wins at five.

Justin’s third win was in 2011 at the BMW Championship at the Cog Hill Golf and Country Club with this win Rose was elevated to third in the standings. Ranking fourth in the scoring average Justin Rose has his first win in 2012 at the WGC – Cadillac Championship.

Starting the fourth round with - 17, Bubba Watson had every thought of taking first place at the end of the day. Even with Bubba Watson’s spectacular shot on the eighteenth hole in front of a palm tree, Watson sets the ball down 9 feet from the flag.

Bubba’s great shot puts him knocking on the door to make this Championship game go into playoff mode, he putts and just misses the hole to the right and Justin Rose wins his biggest game of his young career with a -16 to Watson’s -15.

The final at the end of the 16th hole had Watson and Rose tied at -16 with the number in the world Rory McIlroy at a close -15 with a birdie.

Final for the fourth day stands like this, Justin Rose first place with a -16, Bubba Watson in second place with a -15 and Rory McIlroy with third place with a -14.

First event of the year for Paul Casey he hits an Ace on the 15th finishing with a 73 and being tied for 51st place.

You just have to mention Tiger Woods even if Tiger is not in the winner’s circle he is in the news at every event he enters and this one is no different.

On the 12th hole, Tiger Woods hits his tee shot and soon after takes himself out of the tournament due to an old injury with his Achilles tendon. Tiger and Webb Simpson shake hands, Tiger was taken away in a cart, and that was that for Tiger Woods.

Can Tiger go on like this he is not having the best year considering the way he ended 2011 with a win at Pebble Beach. Will this be the end this year for Tiger Woods or will he makes it back to the tour and how long will this injury keep him at bay of redeeming his former glory.

Not to take away this win from Justin Rose and the two runner-ups that made this game exciting and the reason the television rankings for golf this year is going higher all the time. The excitement has just started and the rest of the year is promising to be a hot one.
