Easy Golf Swing

2016/7/20 10:02:30

Please do not misunderstand me. I know that a golf swing is not easy. It is a very complicated action that has many different variables. What most amateur golfers struggle with is a nice and easy swing. Most of us don't realize how much "swinging for the fences" may be hurting us.

If you are like me, looking down the fairway at a pin that may be several hundred yards away can be very frustrating. Obviously our number one reaction is to swing the club as hard as possible and hope for the best. Things usually get worse after that.

When we decide to swing with all of our might, are swing changes. Like I said earlier a golf swing has many different variables. The result of swinging a golf club harder is that the club speed gets much faster. From there, many things are going to change. From your body position to the position of your club when the ball is impacted. When a golf swing is changed like that, it's hard for the golfer to make all the adjustments that need to be made.

When you swing your golf club hard you will most likely slice the ball. I'm not saying that you won't, occasionally, get lucky and hit the shot you want to. But more often than not you will end up in the rough.

Fixing this is the easiest and hardest thing for a golfer to do. The solution is easy. Don't try to crush the ball. Swing the club with a nice rhythm, strength and speed that is normal for you. If you make good contact the ball will go where it needs to.

The reason this is so hard for most golfers is all in the head. Naturally we think the further the pin is the harder we need to swing. And trying to convince yourself other wise is hard. If you are struggling with this, you need to conduct a little experiment.

To do this I suggest you go to the driving range. You can do it on the course but the range will be better. You are going to hit two shots. You can use any club that you want for this. For your first shot aim straight down the fairway and swing as hard as you can. Now if you don't miss the ball keep track of where it lands. Now for your second shot, take an easy golf swing like you typically do. From there determine which shot works best for you.

Again, it doesn't always end badly, but more often than not swinging your club harder than normal has bad results. The next time you are staring at a lot of fairway in front of the pin you are aiming at, take an easy golf swing and a majority of the time it will work out better for you.
