Golf Practice Routines to Develop your Golf Swing Strengths

To get the most out of your practice sessions, you should incorporate regular golf practice routines into your golf training for putting, short game and full swing.聽 This will help you further develop your golf swing strengths while accelerating the development of your golf swing weaknesses.

Here is a proven set of one hour golf practice routines for putting, the short game and combination (all phases of the game).聽 These practice routines are sure to keep you focused and efficient when you practice your game.

Putting Practice Routine

1. Putting setup and alignment: 5 minutes
2. 30 foot putts: 10 minutes
3. 12 foot putts: 10 minutes
4. 6 foot putts: 10 minutes
5. 2 foot putts (place golf balls in circle around cup): 5 minutes
6. Putting variation (set up 10 balls at 2, 6, 9, and 12 foot locations from hole; once complete repeat drill for two to three more hole locations): 20 minutes

Short Game Practice Routine (Pitch and Chip Shots)

1. Warm up with short chip and pitch shots: 5 minutes
2. Practice chip shot setup and alignment: 5 minutes
3. Chip to same target drill: 5 minutes
4. Chip to three or more targets (chip to short, middle and long target): 10 minutes
5. Practice pitch shot setup and alignment: 5 minutes
6. Pitch to same target drill: 5 minutes
7. Pitch to three or more targets (20 yards, 40 yards and 60 yards away): 10 minutes
8. Alternate short, mid and long chip and pitch shots: 15 minutes

Combination Practice Routine (Full Swing, Short Game, Putting)

1. Stretching (shoulders, legs, lower back, arms): 5 minutes
2. Warm up with short chip and pitch shots: 5 minutes
3. Check full swing setup and fundamentals 鈥?grip, swing plane, tempo: 5 minutes
4. Pitch to three or more targets (20 yards, 40 yards and 60 yards away): 10 minutes
5. Practice full swing shots starting with short irons and working down to driver (2 to 4 shots each): 20 minutes
6. Chip to target drill: 5 minutes
7. Putting drills (6, 9, 12, 30 foot putts): 10 minutes
