TaylorMade Drivers - Golfers Favorite

2016/7/20 10:52:05

There is not any golf player who has not heard of TaylorMade driver. They are very popular among both the amateur and the professional players. They are very unique in every aspect if compared to the drivers of other brands. However, they are well known for the technological innovations done in golf world.

Most of the golf players whether they are amateurs or professionals prefer TaylorMade drivers. There are many reasons for that. They come in many models, each having its own characteristics. Every model has been designed in such a way that fits to the requirements of every golfer.

The price of TaylorMade drivers is not economical. But when you play golf using these drivers, you will realize that the price is worthy. Now, I am going to explain in brief about one TaylorMade driver product to give you an idea of why they are popular. The product is TaylorMade Burner driver.

This driver product is belonged to Burner driver family. At present, there are three branches in Burner driver family. They are: Burner, Tour Burner and Burner Superfast. In Burner branch, there are two products namely, Burner and Burner TP. These products have Dual Crown Technology which supports high launch and low spin in order to travel more distance.

They have high-MOI head design which is joined with Inverted Cone Technology to offer more forgiveness and more consistent distance on off-center hits. These drivers are equipped with a 49 grams shaft which is 46?” in length incorporated with Superfast Technology. This alone enhances excellent swing speed, faster ball speed and added distance.

The price of a TaylorMade Burner driver is comparatively cheap if compared to the other driver products of same brand. Hence, this product is recommended to amateurs and the players who cannot afford other TaylorMade golf driver products.

The Technology

FCT (Flight Control Technology) The common theme between all the R9 models is FCT or Flight Control Technology. This technology allows you to alter the plane of the driver at ball impact. By loosening the clubhead with a special wrench, rotating the head, and tightening the head back, the player will find that the plane of ball contact is changing from closed to open and loft as well. By experimenting, the player can very likely find a setting that is optimal for that player.

MWT (Movable Weight Technology) Movable weight technology is the second big technology in the R9 line. This technology allows the player to adjust the weight from heel to toe in the club head. This would certainly seem to lead to a more consistent drive by putting the MOI center more in a position more suited to the player. As in the FCT, MWT is adjustable by the player. However, it is not present in all models and those that do have the technology implement it differently. Where the R9/TP has it, the 460 doesn’t. And where the Superdeep has the R9’s three weight system, the Superdeep has only a two weight system.

460cc Head (Maximized Head Volume) The 460cc sized head seems to be a common occurrence among manufacturers these days. TaylorMade has itself used the 460cc head in other models (like the Burner Superfast TP). The rationale says that a larger head equals more forgiveness. For those (yes, I am one) who don’t always reach ball impact in the sweet-spot, this can be a godsend. Notice, however that not all models use the larger head.

ICT (Inverted Cone Technology) and UTWT (Ultra-Thin Wall Technology) Both of these technologies have been brought forward from previous years models and are used throughout the R9 family. ICT (Inverted Cone Technology) is in place to make the sweet-spot as large as possible, adding to forgiveness. UTWT (Ultra-thin Wall Technology) allows the head designers to remove weight from the walls of the head and move it to adjust the center of gravity or to be used in the weighting system (MWT). Thus the weight is moved where desired without increasing the overall weight of the club.

Look

The R9 look has been designed around a black finish. In various places on the club you find bits of silver-colored trim, but the overall impression is one of an impressive black beast. Though the club looks like it was designed by an aeronautical engineer (maybe it was…) the shape isn’t just functional. It’s a beautiful club to pull out of your bag.

More

There’s more to learn about the R9 family. The standard shafts vary from club to club. The R9 Superdeep has a particularly deeply designed face (2.5″). CG (Center of Gravity) varies from club to club. The list is long and intriguing!

Conclusion

TaylorMade driver has been winners for three decades now and they have produced a great series of clubs in their R9 line. They are a hit on tour and in the shop. I encourage you to check them out in your local store. On my website you’ll find more information about the R9 drivers and other clubs in the TaylorMade arsenal. Try out the R9 drivers and see what they can do for your game!
