Quartet confirmed for World Match Play

Henrik Stenson, Sergio Garcia, Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer are all now confirmed for the Volvo World Match Play Championship.

The quartet qualify off the world rankings and join Paul Casey, Retief Goosen, Anthony Kim, Camilo Villegas, Robert Allenby, Jeev Milkha Singh and Scott Strange in the 16-man field at Finca Cortesin near Marbella.

The remaining five will come off the European money list on Sunday night with Rory McIlroy, Ross Fisher, Angel Cabrera, Soren Kjeldsen and Oliver Wilson currently in position to make it.

Europe抯 current top two, Kaymer and Casey, are both currently out injured, the former having had surgery on broken toes after a go-kart accident and Casey with a torn rib muscle.

They hope to be back for the Match Play, though, with Kaymer stating: 揑 will be working hard on my fitness and game over the next month to ensure I am ready to play.?br />
Casey is the only one of the world抯 top four to take up his place and in addition to Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Steve Stricker there were also rejections from Kenny Perry, Padraig Harrington, Jim Furyk, Geoff Ogilvy and the winners of the last three majors ?Lucas Glover, Stewart Cink and YE Yang.
