Correcting Your Slice - Most Golfers Slice and You Do Not Have to Be a Slicer Anymore!

Are you the type of golfer that is consistently on the right side of the golf course because you slice the ball really bad? Do you want to figure out how the easiest way to correct your slice is? There are many theories on how you go about correcting your slice, but there are only a few things that you really need to know in order to accomplish this. Here are some of the things you need to know about slicing the golf ball.

First, the reason you are a slicer has the most to do with the angle of the club face when you hit the golf ball. Your club face is wide open and this is why you see the ball go way to the right when you hit it. This means that all the other people that have told you that you need to correct your swing path first are wrong. The path causes you to hit the ball either straight left or straight right, which is either a pull or a push. This has nothing to do with making the ball curve like your slice.

Second, when it comes to correcting your slice you need to learn to do this by getting the club face closed when you make contact with the ball. This means that if the toe of the club and the heel of the club are in a race to the ball the toe of the club needs to win that race every single time. This will help to correct your slice and you can start to see the ball go straighter and maybe even draw a little bit. This is the best way to start correcting your slice.

Last, you can also use a drill that will allow you to get the club face closed. With this drill you should be hitting a 7 or 8 iron. Basically you are going to take about a half swing back just till the club is toe up to the sky. Then, you are going to swing through the ball until the toe is up and left and your forearms touch each other. This will help to teach you how to release the club better. Do not concern yourself with how you hit the ball with the drill, but make sure you do the drill correctly even if you have to go slower than normal.
