How Does An Electric Golf Cart Work

2016/7/20 14:26:00

Golf carts are generally classified into two different types, the electric golf cart and the gas powered golf cart. Even though both of them serve to help for the same purpose of carrying the golf equipments from one hole to another in the course, both of them differ in their functional capability and performance. If you are wondering which one to choose for your needs, then you should first understand the merits and demerits of the both.

Electric golf carts run by the power of charged batteries, while the gas-powered carts make use of gasoline for its operation. They both are intended to provide with the best comfort and safety during the game. Electric golf carts were the carts that were introduced in the market before the arrival of the gas powered carts. But still, when compared to gas powered carts, the electric carts are much more efficient in operating without producing any noise or without polluting the air. Since they work by batteries, you require charging the batteries regularly to get them at best performance. But they do not have more power to run through the hilly surface of the course as compared to the gas powered golf carts.

The only demerit that was found in the case of electric cart was actually the need for electric supply so as to charge the battery. But now, the latest technological breakthrough provides with solar panels that can be attached to the cart from which the battery charging can be done. Regular maintainance of the batteries is also important. Remember that the battery can cause fire if it runs dry, so it is important to immerse it with distilled water regularly to maintain its condition. You can easily detect the drying of your batteries from the smell it produces. When you are applying brakes, depress the accelerator by turning the key towards R. You can move in the reverse direction when the brake is released automatically. In order to go forward, depressing the accelerator by turning the key towards D is suggested. With some practice, you can easily drive in your cart for any personal needs other than for golfing.
