Get A Good Hold Of Your Golf Clubs With Proper Golf Grips

2016/7/20 14:30:45

Golf is all about hitting a ball with power and more importantly control. To achieve this you need to make sure that your clubs are in good order and performing well. Golf clubs are comprised of many individual parts from the actual club head which strikes the ball to the material that forms the shaft of the club down to the grips which we hold onto when swinging the club.

We have all no doubt seen home video shows where the amateur golfer swings wildly and their golf club flies out of their hand. As funny as they are to watch, this is a reality for many golfers who don’t have proper grips or have fitted their golf grips incorrectly. Most clubs will come with perfectly suitable golf grips attached, normally made of rubber or on some older clubs tape. Over time, and especially when golfing in the rain, golf grips can come loose or deteriorate.

As your golf grips become ineffective they will start to affect your golf game and could affect your speed and distance or misalign the club face causing the ball to go almost anywhere but where you want it to. Golf grips can be custom fitted to your hand size, which is important as not everyone will use the same size grips. If a grip is too small then your club could rotate or move when you are swinging the club which will rotate the club head and result in an angled shot. Likewise if the golf grip is too large then the grip could come loose at the point of impact. If either case is true you’ll be making poor shots until you get the correct grip for your hand size.

The most important part of choosing a grip once you know the size you need is how comfortable it is, this can depend on many factors from the shape and raised areas to the cushioning or rigidity of the material being used. Golf grips can come in a wide range of materials from wrapped leather to rubber and urethane mixtures, as well as comfort they are able to help keep your hands attached to the club at all times, with or without a glove.

A golf glove can help you maintain a good grip on your clubs too, although some players choose not to wear one many beginners could benefit from wearing a glove to achieve greater power and distances on their shots.

Making sure your clubs and equipment are in good condition can help lower your golf handicap and getting golf equipment insurance is going to save you money should your clubs get lost, stolen or damaged.
