Another one of the famous female golfers you might have heard of is Annika Sorenstam. Born in Sweden in 1970, Sorenstam was always athletic. She participated in tennis, skiing and football

before becoming a professional golfer in 1992. She is now one of the most successful female golfers in history, having won 69 official LPGA tournaments including 10 majors.

Babe Didrikson Zaharias is possibly a name you haven’t heard, but she is among the most famous female golfers. Born in Texas in 1911, she was America’s first female golf celebrity and the

leading player of the 1940’s and 1950’s. In 1950 she had her greatest year, completing the Gram Slam of the three women’s majors of the day, while also leading the money list.

When it comes to women golfers, Nancy Lopez is right there at the top. Born in California in 1957, Nancy is one of the most accomplished famous female golfers. Her first year on the LPGA tour,

she won nine tournaments. She was also named Player of the Year and Rookie of the year in the same season, the only professional female golfer to have done this to date.
