Stand with your feet apart and take up an imaginary stance but without the club. Let your arms hang naturally in front of you and put your hands together so that your palms are facing each other. During this exercise, make sure that your hands stay in exactly this position and not come apart from each other. When you are ready, make a practice swing.

Observe how you arms rotate as you swing back. You will probably not be able to make a full swing but three quarters back is sufficient to train the arms. At the finish position, notice how your elbows are the same distance apart as they were during the whole swing. You have just learned how the arms works in a perfect golf swing.

If you want to practice the perfect swing, you can also try doing this: Before you start hitting balls on the range, make ten practice swings with your hands together. When you are ready to hit balls, try to retain the same feeling during the swing of how the arms work in the drill. If you are in doubt, concentrate on the elbows staying the same distance apart throughout the swing from the address position, right the way through to the finish.

This golf swing drill will help you achieve the correct swing mechanics and technique. It will train you to make the correct arm rotation in the golf swing, that is responsible for swing plane and hand release at impact.
