How to Get Started Playing Golf for Women

2016/7/20 15:15:56

Whether you have recently begun playing golf or have done so for a few years, you more than likely want to progress with your game. While there is a great deal of information, at hand all over the Internet regarding how to advance at your golf game, the sheer quantity can be overwhelming, causing you to imagine that you need a 36-hour days in order to deal with your responsibilities and develop your golf game. Here are three hints which will aid you in developing your game, even if you don’t have the amount of time you’d like for committing to your preferred game.

Most women have one main issue to worry about when playing against men and that is their confidence levels. This happens often because women feel inferior as far as strength goes when compared to men. Even though it’s rarely true, many women believe the men are talking about them behind their backs. You are only setting yourself up to fail if you are allowing your own paranoia to get the better of you. Strength can improve you game some but your overall technique and accuracy can be even more important. You may not realize it but women are better with accuracy then men are so don’t become discouraged by their strength you can outplay them with your accuracy. A common issue with female golf players is their grip. A good grip is a very important aspect of playing golf. This is because it guarantees that you are in control of the golf club. Good control means more accurate shots and balls that fly further. However, a lot of women tend to rest their grip at the top of the swing and then re grip the golf club during the downswing. The problem is that this approach affects distance as well as control. One way to get over this error is to practice your swings with only your left hand. This forces you to maintain your grip or the club will go flying. If you practice on a regular basis, you will soon realize that gripping becomes automatic.

The right equipment can do wonders for your game, which is why most experts recommend that you get professionally fitted for your clubs, once you are ready to make the purchase. Before you go buy clubs though you’ll want to be sure this isn’t just a passing phase. Don’t make the mistake of purchasing something that’s only going to mock you later as it collects dust in the corner. Avoid this expense at least initially by renting or borrowing clubs at least until you discover whether or not this is the game for you. A custom set of clubs can indeed wait until you are sure you like the game.

Once you get the basics down, you will find that golf isn’t such a difficult game. You should expect to practice a lot if you really want to be great at this wonderful game.
