Tips for Bettering Your Golf Swing

2016/7/20 15:32:16

Improving their golf swing is something every golfer is trying to do. Getting the best score that you can is, after all, part of the fun of any game. Getting the best score depends on your having a good golf swing. The only way to get a good golf swing is to work at it. The only way to improve your swing is to practice. These tips will help you improve your golf swing and your score.

Don’t be afraid to rotate through the ball with your hands. Most people will have an instinctive feeling that they need to “flip” their wrists but you need to avoid doing this. It is important that you begin at contact with your wrist watch toward the ground so that during follow through your writs remains straight forward. Doing this will enable you to reduce your slice and keep your ball on target for a hole in one! It also helps the ball go farther by increasing the strength behind the contact point.

During backswing your left knee should be toward your target. It is most likely that you will feel a bit of muscle tension not to mention a much more stable position in both knees. This means that you are standing correctly and it reduces the turn of your body as you follow through on the stroke. The best way to practice this is to try holding a basketball between your knees when you swing (or at least imagine that you need to keep one there). This helps you see how you need to point your left knee and what strength you will need to draw from.

Ok, wind again… just swing easier, ok? If you don’t do that, then you will lose trajectory plus accuracy… plus control, etc. Remember what Greg Norman said, “swing easy into the breezy.” It’s easy to think that you need more force when the wind is working against you. Remember, there’s all kinds of forces and aerodynamic principles at play – swing easy, golfer… trust us. Once again with feeling – swing easy and have more ball control; everything is better. Wind can feel good, sure, but don’t let it take you down the wrong path.

Getting your golf swing under control really isn’t any worse than practicing core balance techniques including posture. These stances and postures simply make sure that you have all of the effect you can get when your club hits the ball. Doing this helps ensure accuracy and efficiency with your balls distance too. Many people think that improving one’s golf swing is difficult. The reality of it is, it’s really nothing more than practice. Don’t give up, you will soon see your swing improving significantly.
