Country Club At DC Ranch抯 Kickoffs Event

2016/7/20 15:49:44

The Season at the Scottsdale Golf Club is officially open as of our Kickoff event on Friday, October 19th. Scottsdale Golf Club wanted everyone to play so we had an AM and PM shotgun which enabled us to play 168 golfers. This was a terrific start to what we expect to be an active, fun, competition filled year here at Scottsdale Golf Club

The great thing that I observe is that all of our Scottsdale Golf Club members, new and existing are playing more rounds than in previous years. We expect our competitions, such as the Club Championships, to be highly contested in both the Ladies’ and Men’s divisions. Please allow for this to encourage you to find a partner and play in the upcoming Scottsdale private Golf Club "Rodeo" Member/Member event - For the Ladies - November 13 and 14, and the Men - November 16 and 17. Sign-ups can be done on Fore Tees.

Friendly reminder - We can never remind you enough how important it is to do our part in keeping our Scottsdale Country Club golf course pristine with terrific playing surfaces, inclusive of raking bunkers, fixing ball marks, and filling fairway and rough divots.

Golf carts & walking the Scottsdale Country Club course - We realize it is somewhat inconvenient this time of year to insist that carts stay on paths until Friday, November 9th. In the meantime, for those who like to walk but not carry their clubs, the four bag cart attachment is the way to play. The group has one cart carrying all players clubs and as long as you share the driving, you can get plenty of exercise. It’s that time of year when fresh fall goods are in the Scottsdale Country Club golf shop. In addition to this, we have a fall trunk show,

Holiday Boutique Shopping at Scottsdale Country Club on Tuesday afternoon, November 13th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Clubhouse. See page six (6) for more details. For our new members it is a worthwhile reminder that we will continue our Meet or Beat pricing program in the golf shop, inclusive of clubs, bags, balls, and other hard goods. No store in town will sell you any products at a better price.

Save Saturday, November 10th for Demo Day at the Scottsdale Country Club Practice Park from 9:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m. Rules of Golf/Handicap - The Arizona Golf Association has changed our handicap system and aligned with the USGA GHIN system. As far as posting scores, you will continue to post scores as you always have. Our Handicap Committee has been meeting and will be posting guidelines on the website. In summary, every player is responsible for not only posting each 18 hole score, but 9 hole rounds as well. Look for the updates in the coming weeks.

Heights of cuts on the course - We are often asked about our height of cuts on the golf course. What you can expect throughout the season are ½ fairways; 1" intermediate rough heights, and no more than 2" in priming rough areas. Green speeds will be cut at 10-1/2’ on a stamp meter which should challenge all golfers this season.

Hazards – We have very few hazards on the Scottsdale Country Club golf course until your each Hole #12 when there are white lines and stakes on the left edge of the cart path, in addition to the right side of the hole marked as a lateral hazard with red lines and stakes. Hole #13 is a regular hazard marked in yellow with an OPTIONAL ball drop between the blue stakes to the left of the green, should you choose to use it. On Hole #14, the left edge of the top cart path is out of bounds marked with white stakes and lines on the right side of the right cart path is a lateral hazard marked with red lines and stakes. These are the only hazards marked on our course.

Scottsdale Country Club Golf Instruction:

We all play this game with the hope our next round with our friends might be the best one we have ever had; yet often we go to the Practice Park or first tee with no plan. Scottsdale Country Club recommends a visit with one of our PGA professionals to assist you in setting and getting you to your goal. We have access to a launch monitor to accurately record and recommend the best clubs, shafts, and grips for your game, as well as video equipment to tape and play back in slow motion, your swings and practice session. Our Scottsdale Country Club data indicates that last season was our most active instruction year so far, and we are interested in helping you be the best player you can be.
