Improving Your Golf Swing: 6 Need To Know Tips

2016/7/20 15:52:26

If you've ever wondered why an old or out of shape pro golfer can hit majestic 300 yard blasts while you can't seem to get yours under control, it all boils down to fundamentals and mechanics. If you want to be able to improve your golf game, it needs to start with mastering your golf swing and mastering your drives. Use these helpful hints to get you started.

1) You'll need to focus on the task without over thinking things to ensure a fluid, accurate swing.

2) Keeping your head down is very important. You need to hone your vision onto your target, which is where the golf ball is laying. Don't look at where you'll be hitting it and keep your head down throughout the entire swing.

3) Don't release your swing too soon. Far too many people make contact with the golf ball and then stop swinging. You need to follow through all the way to increase your power and improve your drives.

4) Lengthen your swing by using full arm extension and by using a full range of motion from back swing to follow through.

5) Improve your rotation by focusing on keeping your chin on your shoulder during your backswing. This will help keep your body aligned and will help generate more force, producing more accurate and more powerful drives each and every time.

6) Of course of huge importance is the ability to transfer the energy from your body to the ball, producing a strong and lengthy drive. If you keep your weight on your back foot you won't generate or transfer as much energy. Transfer your weight to your front foot making it easier to apply your force to your drive.

Finally, you have to understand that a good golf swing is about mastering techniques and about mastering timing and fluidity. You can't learn these things just by reading, you have to get out there and get as many swings as you can so you can learn by doing. It may be unreasonable to expect to be driving 300 yards anytime soon, but it's absolutely within your power to add distance and accuracy to your golf drives starting today.
