When should Golfers Tee Off with their Driver

Any time many mid-handicap and high-handicap players go to the tee on a par four or par five, people instinctively grab the golf driver.  No matter the layout of the golf hole or maybe if they could hardly use their driver to hit a ball at that time into the body of water from the end of a pier, they persistently hit that driver and subsequently bear the outcomes.  There's a way to better manage the course, and that involves taking each given situation separately and utilizing the best golf club to the particular shot.

The main reason most golfers use the maximum distant club for each shot regardless of the terrain.  The thinking is that the farther they will be able to knock the ball down the fairway the quicker they are going to get to the golf green, which would be appropriate thinking if there weren't these annoying hindrances all around the course.  The companies that built the course set those difficulties out there for a good reason, that because of the fact that a course would be pretty boring assuming they weren't there.

Therefore before you actually get hold of that driver, think about a few things.  Initially, how's it going hitting the driver that particular day?  Are you fighting a power fade that goes some distance, but quite a bit right?  Then examine the golf hole.  Do you see obstacles on the right, that place that you have been smacking the ball all day that you cannot afford to go?  Nevertheless the hole is of such a distance that you know it's not possible to reach it within regulation minus the extra distance the golf driver gives you, given needless to say you actually hit it in a straight line.

These are the dilemmas with regards to course management.  In most cases we'll just try to adjust the swing of our driver, which probably will devastate the golf swing with the club for the remainder of the round.  Better to get that swing action down and at least recognize where it will go rather than struggling with your swing and have no idea where it's going to wind up.

There does exist another way, and though it isn't nearly as exciting it is actually the superior method to manage a golf course.  Use a reduced-distance club that you will have better control with and play for location instead of length.  For me that fallback golf club is a hybrid golf club.  I only hit it about 180 yards, but I'm at the least 80% sure just where I'll place it.  This most likely means I'm going to be coming into the hole from fifty yards, yet from there I ought to be able to hit the green as well as two putt for bogey.  And hopefully I still make par from that point.

Setting yourself up to create a chance to have a more simple golf shot is really what you should be contemplating from the tee.  When you are using your driver, than you should work with it.  But just being a little farther down the fairway might not be the ideal place to be.
