Noodle Golf Balls

Golf balls have evolved over the hundreds of years golf has been played. The first golf balls were made of wood. In 1618 the feather ball was introduced. This ball was made with feathers and cow or horse hide. The ball was handcrafted; when wet, the ball dried, the leather shrank and the feathers expanded, creating a hard ball. In 1848 the first gutta ball was introduced and played a large role in expanding the game of golf.

1898 saw the firs rubber one-piece introduced to the game of golf. The rubber one-piece was made out of a rubber core, wrapped with rubber bands and covered with a gutta cover. These balls were mass produced and lowered the costs involved with golf balls. The first dimple patterns were introduced in 1905; the dimple patterns maximize lift and minimize drag. Fast forward about 100 years and we get the Noodle golf ball, the latest evolution in the history of the golf ball.

About Noodle Golf Balls

Noodle golf balls were introduced and produced by Maxfli. Maxfli has a tradition of introducing unique products to the golf market and the tradition kept going with the Noodle. Golf balls are made by two basic design concepts, the two-piece and wound balata ball. The Noodle is a two piece golf ball designed for added length and softer feel.

The ball gets its extra length from the low compression core. The low compression core allows for improved speed off the clubface, hence improving distance. The Noodle is made with a 408 dimple pattern, allowing the ball to have a high trajectory and soft landing. The ball does not sacrifice feel for the sake of distance. The ball is made with a Surlyn cover designed to improve feel for the player.
