Can You Ever Have a Correct Golf Swing?

Then align your shoulders, hips and feet on a line that falls slightly left of the target.

Your head should be behind the ball and not lifted so as to pull you out of your correct posture swing.

Are Your Feet in Good Standing?

In order to make a straight shot you use what is called a square stance. For this stance your feet are pointed just left of the target. When making a shot from the sand trap or when chipping use the open stance where your left foot is pulled back. Make sure that your feet are spaced correctly which is never more than shoulder width for driving the ball.

Regarding the golf ball, line it up with your left heal for using the longer fairway woods or driver. When using short irons, place the ball in the middle of your stance.

Time to Make the Correct Golf Swing

Once you have done all the above check items correctly now bring the club back while keeping your arms straight. The left arm should remain straight while swinging through but your right arm should bend at the elbow around the waist level. Remember not to jerk the golf club but keep a smooth swing and low to the ground.

For a full golf swing you should have the club stay parallel to the ground for the backswing. Since not all shots are full swings you need to judge the distance of your backswing for the club level.

In your backswing, you need to shift your weight slightly but only enough so that your right hip does not go past your right foot. Your right shoulder should be pointing upward while your left shoulder points down.

Your head stays behind the ball while moving it forward on a horizontal level. Do not rotate your hips too drastically but allow your hips and back to move in unison. Avoid using your hands to start when going into your downswing You should be using your hips to start the downswing. It is essential that the left hip allows for your weight to be shifted to your left foot.

If you follow this procedure correctly then your golf swing should get the best results for maximum club head speed which results in a terrific golf swing. Keep in mind that for a full golf swing you want your head, shoulders and hips facing your target after your follow through shot.

The only thing left for you then is to admire watching your ball rip down the fairway.
