The Key To Winning Golf Is In Your Head

Have you ever read one golf player's valuable advice, only to find the next day a different professional vehemently disagreeing and advocating the exact opposite? For example, one player will tell you that keeping your head straight is key to success. Later, another person comes along and gives completely contradictory advice.

As golf players, we all have our own unique styles of playing the game. What works with some players may not work with others.

However, there are some fundamentals of golf that are absolutely necessary to adhere by. And I'm advising - fanatically - that you keep your head absolutely still and not move it from the spot in which you start.

If your muscles are stiff, it would be impossible to maintain your head's position. By keeping your head still, you loosen up and this allows you to finish your stroke smoothly and naturally. "Slicing", which results from drawing your hands in to ensure a balanced position, is also avoided if you keep your head still.

A known PGA champion - and we won't say who - once 'fessed up and said that he kept repeating the mantra "keep your head still", as he prepared for each shot he took. Many people don't pay much attention to this important part of the game.

By focusing on this particular element of the game, you can drastically improve the way you play. Once in a while, you may make an awful-looking shot, but by keeping your head still in the next few strokes you should improve as the game progresses.

See, when your head is still, your ability to see the ball at every point in the swing is enhanced. This would be impossible assuming you moved it from left to right as you try to focus on the ball.

This can drastically improve the way you look at your golf game. You must maintain 100% focus on the golf ball, and your head should be kept so still that it's ridiculous - even a glass of water won't be shaken in the process. You'll see the ball clearly and hit it more accurately.

Keep your head still and eye on the ball - these are two tips you should always follow even if you may be nervous, so you can improve your game quickly and efficiently.
