Golf Courses Around The World

St. Andrews – The Old Course

Where else would you start this type of task, of course at the beginning and that would be Scotland all the way back to the beginning at what may be Scotland’s number one course the St. Andrews, The Old Course.

Step back in time and imagine all the great players of the game that have played on this course. The course has history as well as elegance. The great Bobby Jones said that if there was only one course to play he could grow old playing at St. Andrews

St. Andrews is located in Fife Scotland and is a public course and between April 16 – October 14/2012 it will cost you £150 for the green fees. If you feel you must, and who wouldn’t want to, you should go to their web site and choose one of the four methods of achieving tee times.

Muirfield

Always advancing in course design Muirfield has come a long way since it first came to the town of Muirfield in East Lothian in 1891. Being host to many professional and amateur championships over the years Muirfield is again expecting change for the next Open Championship in 2013. The golf architect Martin Hawtree will be on site for the course upgrades.

Muirfield is located in Muirfield, Gullane, East Lothian, Scotland and is a private course. Not to despair if you want to challenge this course they have what they call visitor tee time on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So not is all lost, again best way is to go to their web site and look on how to arrange for tee times. The cost for this privilege will be € 195 per round.

Royal Dornoch Golf Club

This golf club has been a royal club for 100 years or more, meaning that it has met and surpassed expectations of exceptional service and standards for golfers around the world. Since 1877, the Royal Dornoch has never hosted a major championship.

Compared to the first two courses this course is very reasonable on green fees depending the time of the year it is but £100 should get you a day out on one of their courses.

The Royal Dornoch Golf Club is located in Dornoch, Sutherland, Scotland, and is a semi-private course with tee times for the public. Thinking about visiting this beautiful Golf Club, you should go their website to arrange, it would be best.

This is just the first three in my long journey to bring you golf courses from around the world. Have a favourite golf course like to mention the courses in your town or city leave a comment shout it out golf courses in your town.
