There are buses available only till the base of the Machu Picchu Hill and beyond that, which is a climb of a thousand meters, you will have to make the journey on foot by yourself. The best time to travel to Machu Picchu is only during the summers. Because in winters, the steep climb becomes difficult for a number of climbers and it is also pretty unsafe. The hiking will last for several hours, but if you plan your trip to Machu Picchu in the right way, you will have the best possible time of your life.
