Baseball Games: The PlayOffs

One of the most watched sports in America is major league baseball. There are 30 total major league teams (14 in the American League and 16 in the National League). Each and every team play a total of 162 games each season and the goal is always one for all teams: getting a World Series title. Each league is made of 3 divisions, the number of teams in each division varies from 4 to 6 teams.

At the end of the regular season, the leading team out of each division represents that division in the playoffs, the team with the best record of the remaining teams gets to be the wild card team to the playoffs. The team with the best record of each league plays the wild card team of that league, while the other two division leaders teams play each other. The first round of the playoffs consists of 5 games, the first team that gets 3 wins first move on to the second round, where the two winning teams play each other for seven games, and the team that gets 4 wins first moves on to the world series. The world series is where the winner from the American League plays the winner of the National League. The two teams play 7 games again to decide who will be the world champion team of baseball.

The Major League playoff games are the biggest part of the baseball season as they will show if your favorite team is good enough to be playing in these games and possibly be crowned as the world champs. These  playoff  games attract millions of fans from around the globe that tune in and watch the games played live on many tv networks. The games provide the excitement that fans are looking for as teams battle each other out to be crowned the champion. There is no better feeling than the one you get when your team makes it all the way and get the ultimate prize. That is quiet an accomlishment with so many teams and so many super players on all those teams.

Note: Starting in 2012 there will be an additional wild card team in each division.
