TIP! You should never try getting the ball into the goal when you’re in a bad position. Always try to pass the ball to an open player if you find yourself blocked.

Are you interested in finding out all about soccer? Are interested in enhancing your skills so that you can play at a professional level? Soccer is extremely fun and there is a lot to learn before you can stand among the greats. Keep reading to find out more about this wonderful sport.

TIP! Depending on your skill level will determine what kind of cleats you end up buying. Plastic or synthetic cleats are the best choice for new players with little skill.

You are not out of play after passing the ball. Follow the teammate you passed to, and attempt to put yourself in a position to help. Good players will return the ball if assistance is needed.

TIP! Don’t assume your job is over just because you’ve passed the ball. Keep up with the action as you may see the ball soon come back to you.

Avoid collisions with other players at all costs. Know where the opponent is going to be so you don’t have contact. Doing this not only allows you to keep possession of the ball, but it also greatly reduces the possibility that you might be injured.

TIP! If you want more stamina, participate in long distance runs in the off-season. Many players will run at least eight miles during a game.

A good move to practice is the Outside Elastico. Use this move to cut inside from the flanks. Grab a bag, shoe or cone and practice by putting it down on the ground. Take 5 steps away from the cone. Start by dribbling in the direction of the cone. Whenever you get close to the cone, do an outside touch and then quickly do an inside touch. Outside touching is the move that fools opponents. Remember that the second touch should be more forceful than the first.

TIP! You need to give both ends of the field attention when you are at midfield. You need to be prepared to receive the soccer ball from a single side and quickly switch it to the opposite side.

Always think about how you can surprise your opponents. Good players are going to recognize and predict all of your plays if you are someone who doesn’t do anything new. When a defender approaches, kick the ball over to the field’s other side.

TIP! Practice your penalty kicks when you train. This will help you learn about the penalty kick.
