Avoid assuming that you are no longer in play after passing the ball. Follow the teammate you passed to, and attempt to put yourself in a position to help. Passing the ball when necessary is a sign of a good player.

 

Ask yourself what you can do to help your team. If you are one of the most skilled players on the field, take the lead and act as a play maker. If other players are more skilled and experienced than you, you can be a lot more useful by supporting them.

 

Always keep your eyes open. If you are fortunate enough to get the ball, pass it to the person that you think can advance toward the goal, even if that is not you. Be selfless in order to help your team win. However, in order to follow this piece of advice, you have to be vigilant and know what is happening on the field at all times.

 

You need to be in top physical condition to play your best game. Experiment to determine the optimal time and type of meal to eat before your match to ensure that you have enough energy to last to the end of the game. Get it right and you'll power past your opponents.

 

Your entire team should be committed to moving the ball across the field as often as possible. This will help space to open up and will give your team a better chance of scoring a goal. If your team is struggling to do this, watch footage of professional soccer teams. It should give you an idea of what you need to be doing.

 

Soccer is a tough sport. Do not worry about running into another player. A bit of physicality isn't against the rules. You shouldn't hurt anyone on purpose, but rough contact is to be expected. Let your anxieties go. Wear soccer pads to keep your legs safe.
