Sunk in relatively deep waters this dive site is only for qualified divers as the currents can be quite intense and the wreck is so considerable that it can only be fully treasured if it is dived more than once.

For anyone seeking or looking for unusual Florida scuba diving experiences then you can visit Christ of the Abyss. This world famed dive site has a 4000lb figure so tall that it is effortlessly viewed from the surface. The Underwater Society of America received the figure after it was donated by Egidi Cressi in 1962. The statue complete with its stand was sunk in the shallow waters near to the reef.

An underwater photographers paradise has to be Molasses Reef and with the improvement in digital technology the rewards are even better. One of Key Largo most admired and visited dive sites this reef system is one of great beauty and a must do dive for everyone. Extraordinary marine life delivering lovely colors makes Molasses Reef one of the most photographed reefs in the world. The clear and fairly shallow waters means the lighting is just right and with some stunning marine life as your background and subjects you cannot help but take some fabulous underwater pictures.

There are many experienced scuba divers who plan their Florida scuba trip to Key Largo to include as many shipwrecks as possible.

Whilst the USS Spiegel Grove is a must do dive there are additional thrilling ship wrecks in Key Largo includiing the cutters USS Duane and USS Bibb. These 2 shipwrecks were prepared ahead of sinking so are good to dive.
