Something Different With Scuba Diving in Greece

2016/7/26 14:16:46

If you are a scuba diving enthusiast then you are always looking for new haunts to explore. Scuba diving in Greece may be just what you’re looking for. Scuba diving in Greece is less well known, as the Greek government has restricted the areas for scuba diving. This is to preserve ancient ruins that have yet to be salvaged from the deep.

There are however a number of ways to still enjoy scuba diving in the Greek islands while enjoying everything else that Greece has to offer. One of the best ways to go about scuba diving in Greece is to charter a yacht for dive trips. This is actually quite an affordable way to scuba dive and it’s plenty of fun too.

Group Fun

Scuba diving in Greece via a yacht is a great way to combine everything you could want on a vacation. You can choose from a number of itineraries according to how long you would like to be out on the open seas. When you charter a yacht you will be joining like-minded people on a trip to explore the underwater treasures of Greece.

It’s always fun to travel in a group. Don’t worry, as the groups are kept small enough so that you will know everyone you are traveling with. There are plenty of activities besides diving to keep you occupied and at the end of the day you won’t be sorry you took this route to explore the waters of Greece.

Shipwrecks And Caves

You can explore wrecks such as the Titanic’s sister ship the Britannic. Scuba diving through shipwrecks is always fascinating and even a little spooky. If you have never tried this before then be sure to check it out when you decide to go scuba diving in Greece.

If you are traveling to Greece in May to June or August to October then you may want to check out cave diving in Naxos. A nearby diving center will take you to the site and let you explore the beauty of The Dome. This diving site is not for everyone, as you are required to have prior diving experience. Beginners should stay away from this site, as it is recommended for advanced open water divers.

Due to the restrictions that the Greek government has imposed in the past, scuba diving in Greece has not been a hotspot for divers in many years. However, recent revisions to Greek law concerning diving are about to change that. Take advantage of this obscure dive spot while it is still new and virtually empty of divers. There are more dive spots being opened up now and you will certainly enjoy diving here.
