Taba Heights can be found in the very north of the Gulf of Aqaba near the border with Israel. The dive sites are attract a wide range of colourful fish and other marine creatures.

In contrast to the busy dive sites of Sharm el Sheikh, you will often find that at the dive sites in Taba, yours is the only dive boat at a site in Taba. This is one of the main attractions of the area and is an excellent alternative to the popular reefs of Jackson or Shark & Yolanda at the other end of the Sinai.

The dive sites around Taba Heights don't take long to get to which means there is usually the option of a 3rd dive of the day…never a bad thing ! ! The site that attracts most boats is Farun Island (aka Pharoah's Island). There is an old fort and lookout post on the island built during the times of the crusades by the Saracen Saladin who was the great rival of Richard the Lionheart. As well as being a popular dive site, it is also the destination for snorkelling trips. Nonetheless, it's a lovely setting to relax at in between dives and is also an easy site to dive.

Taba Heights is the perfect destination for underwater photographers. It's shallow dive sites are home to countless species of colourful marine life including the hideous looking Frogfish. It is a type of Anglerfish that ambushes it's prey and the speed of attack happens faster than the eye can see. There are a number of different species of Frogfish and are one of the more unusual looking fish.

There is a spectacular array of creatures to be found in and around Taba including Moray eels, nudibranchs, clownish, lionfish, sea stars and shrimp. If you are taking photos during every dive, you will be amazed how many different creatures you will have seen by the end of the week. Sadly, night diving isn't permitted due to various restrictions imposed as the borders of Israel, Jordan and Saudi Arabia as so close. Divers visiting Taba will miss out on what would certainly be stunning night dives in Taba.
