Paragliding: A Comprehensive Guide to the Sport of Free Flight
Paragliding is a recreational and competitive flying sport in which a person flies through the air using a lightweight, non-motorised glider wing to descend from elevated objects (or thermals) with the help of gravity. Typically, the wing is made from nylon fabric and is supported by a series of fiberglass rods. The pilot is attached to the wing harness and uses a control system of lines, called brakes and a speed bar to navigate and control the direction and speed of the flight.
