my velocity/height

Question
I'm a 13 3/4 yr old who is 5.1 ft 90 lbs, but I have a 68-72 4 seamer with a 59-63 curve, and a 64-67 2 seamer, I still have about a foot to grow considering at the velocity I have now what is the potential fastball speed I could have by age 18 87,91,92 mph what speed

Answer
hi david
thanks for the question. i am not sure what your velocity will be when you grow. the one thing i can say is that you will throw harder. but no one knows how much you will grow, or if your throwing mechanics will continue to be sound.

the point i want to make, is pitching is not about velocity. it is about changing speeds, location, and working ahead in the count. it is about throwing pitches that are not expected by the hitter. we call that "throwing backwards".

my advice to you is to learn how to throw a change and focus on what the best "pitchers" do when they compete.

good luck.
