Baseball Run Scoring: Does a Juggling Ball Affect a Run?
Question
is the run score, if the runner from 3rd base crosses the plate while the ball at first base has been juggling before the first baseman touches the bag?
Answer
Arthur,
Juggling has nothing to do with if the run scores. If any out is made that is a force out for the third out, the run does not score. If the batter-runner is called out at first for the third out it does not matter whether the runner crossed home plate first because it is a force out regardless.
I hope this has helped.
