Metal Cleats for U15 Players: Safety & Skill Development

Do you have an opinion about boys playing in an U15 age group being allowed to wear metal cleats.  Primarly, I am concerned from a safety perspective.

It has been my experience with children that are 13-15 years old to know how to use metal cleats.  There is always that issue of cleating another player, but most of the time, this is done on purpose, as players are taught to slide properly.  He needs to start practicing with the metal cleats, as this is what they wear in high school baseball, and they should be getting prepared for that as well.
