Pitching help

Question
I am 17 years old and a Junior in High School. I have played Little League from 1995 to 2002. I always wanted to be a pitcher but I only had a 4 seam fastball and my arm strength was very weak. In high school I run track in the Winter and Spring so my arm strength is stronger than before. Even I though I love track my passion is baseball but I did not try out for the school team because I do not have any confident in my pitches and I do not know how fast I can pitch. I want to play baseball and run indoor track in college. I have a 4-seam fastball, curveball, slider, splitter, and a circle-change. What should I do to improve my pitches' speed, location, break, and effectiveness? Thank you.

Answer
David,

This will be no small task.  I don't know how good your high school team is, but I know that where we are, if you don't play until you are a Junior or Senior, there is little chance of making the team.  My recommendation would be to see a pitching coach that you can get some one on one lessons with so that he can give you some instruction.  He will be able to get you in the right direction.

Good luck,
Coach Boss
