Pin placement factor

Question
I have a ball that reacts jus a little late. The pin placement on it is 2 5/8. I want to get another ball like it but make it a little more aggressive.  Two balls are available. One has a 3 1/2 pin.  The other has a 4 pin. Is there much difference in the two?  Will eithervwork for what I want.

Answer
Roger,
Is the pin placement 2 5/8 from your positive axis? or just 2 5/8 from the Center of Gravity (CG)? How is the ball laid out? where are fingers and thumb positioned relative to the Pin, CG, and mass bias if there is a marked mass bias? What ball are you asking about?

You want a little earlier reaction put a weight hole large (1 inch) and shallow on you current balls Positive Axis Point (PAP). If the pin to PAP is 2 and 5/8, the weight hole won't work well though.

Getting another ball is a good plan, especially if it's a ball you all ready like and works good for you. Changing the layout a little to improve the reaction is NOT ONLY about the length of pin to CG, but the relationship between gripping holes and their location relative to the core, cg, etc.

Thanks for the question. Please fill in some additional info and I believe we can get the improved reaction you're looking for.
