Aggressive Bowling Ball Recommendations for Developing Players

Question
My son is 16 and is currently using a storm virtual gravity. He is what I would call a stroker. He stays behind the ball well but does not snap through it at the bottom. A down and in player. The gravity is not drilled ultra aggressive and when he comes through the ball well has a strong roll through the pins.

I would like to get him into something that is more aggressive and will cover more boards if he should come upon a condition that is a little more oily. What ball and layout would be recommended?

Answer
Don,
Your son has a very aggressive cover and core in Storm's Virtual Gravity. When I find a ball that suites a player, a stronger (or weaker) version is often what we discuss when they are looking for more or less (depending how strong/weak the ball is laid out). A stronger (or weaker) version of something a player is all ready familiar with seems to fit and be usable much quicker.

From your description, it sounds like there is room to drill a VG stronger maybe with a (strong) weight hole (position) to give him more when he needs more. Covering more boards is NOT what you want him to do, I suspect, when lanes are oily, rather to play where he prefers with a stronger tool. Thanks for the question. Good luck to you and your son. Bowl well.
