momentum swing follow up

Question
Dont get me wrong, I have use reactive balls before and have no problem throwing a swing shot. the reason i use the U2 at the moment is i went to work on the road and someone put my bowling balls in a storage unit.we will just say they now know what happens to balls when they freeze. lol. I have been bowling since i was 4 and have a great concept on the mechanics of bowling but never really got into the drilling aspect. I have no idea on what layout is good im just using what i have read and the drilling instuctions i have found on the net. the momentum swing ball i am looking at is a very good price and hard to pass up. Plus like u said there is only so much a 17 year old ball can do. It does allow me to consistanly throw 600-650 series. im currently holding a 210 average.but im looking to move back up and this is a great price what drill layout would u suggest. ill be bowling on a 40 ft flat oil pattern med to heavy oil.

Answer
Robert,
Your U2 is a little bit of surface and a very center heavy core (similar in concept to the Storm Natural or AMF Hype). The Momentum Swing is much stronger (not rougher) reactive resin cover and strong Radius of Gyration (RG) and RG Differential core. It will be much more ball than you throw now. Cheap is not a good reason to buy a ball.

If you played nothing but par threes in golf, how would it help to have an expensive Big Bertha driver that you could never, NEVER use??? Good investment if you buy it to resell it. Not good if you buy it and it is TOO MUCH to use. Or in order to use it you must change how you swing a club. You want to have a 5 and 7 iron, not a Bertha and a wedge.

You are looking to buy a tool. You don't buy a wrench and go find a job you can use it on. You buy the tool to fit the job you want done.

Not knowing anything about your game (other than you are consistent with Urethane) I can't suggest a layout for your rev rate, ball speed, axis tilt and rotation to match up on the lane surface (wood, synthetic, textured synthetic, etc, which do you bowl on?) and flat sport like pattern that you are looking to bowl on without lots more information.

Sorry, I can't be more helpful. You could potentially buy a entry to mid level ball, for not a lot of money that would be a nice step up from where you are with Urethane. Thanks for the question. Good luck with what ever you choose to do.
