Question
hello, I'm a freshman in highschool, I love the game of football, and just like any other football athlete...... I wanna be a NFL player. Not because of the money or the fame, because i love the sport. I'm 15,150Lbs 5'9, Bench 180, INC. 155, BK squat 215, I'm not sure on the 40 time but I'm fast, ill have my 40 when you reply. Now my question is am i big enough to be a linebacker?
And are college scouts gonna recognize me for my ability to play or my size? It would mean the world to me if you replied back! thanks!

Answer
Hello,

In my experiences, you are probably on pace to be the right size for a linebacker. But even if you do not grow another inch, you can still play linebacker. You still have a lot of time to grow.

Tip: Push ups build mass in the upper body. I always recommend 50 - 100 push ups morning and night.

College scouts are excellent in recognizing talent. I was really an out of position player. I played fullback in high school, but I was only 5'8", 172 lbs. I ran a 4.6, 40 yard dash. I was elusively quick, with a quick explosion through the hole. I was recruited and moved to the wing position until I bulked up, and moved back to the backfield my sophomore year.

You obviously want to play and you seem to be willing to work hard. Believe in yourself, continue to work hard and leave everything on the field, every game. Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.
