40 yard dash


Question
Hi im James Green, Im a sophmore but im playing QB for our varsity football team. I was just wondering what i could do to get my 40 m. dash from 4.62 to maybe 4.5or4.4 by the end of this season.

  Well James to be honest I really don't think it will improve that much in that short of a period of time.  I think that this would be a year long project.  I think running sprints and becoming extremely flexible is a good idea.  Always remember flexible muscles are faster muscles.  Along with sprints and stretching, I would recommend running track next spring.  Focus on your overall running technique.  They will teach you how to run more fluidily, which will make you faster.  So work on it but be realistic that it will take time for it to improve.  GOOD LUCK COACH NOEL!!
