becoming a qb

Question
hell my name is AJ... i am going to be a freshmen this upcoming year. I am a quarterback and have been for almost 5 years. I am 5'11 and weigh 156. I can bench press 195, squat 325, deadlift 335, and power clean 190. Being a qb, discus thrower, and pitcher, i know i have the arm strength to play at the varsity level. Its just that i dnt know if i am mentally ready. I would like to know what you think of a freshmen playing varsity quarterback.

Answer
Aj it sounds like you have the physical stats to play varsity as a freshman.  But you can't replace experience.  Only a very select few are ready to start at qb position as a freshman.  I would advise playing a year of junior varsity, and becomoing more familar with the offensive system and developing leadership skills, so that the next year you will be ready to start your 10 grade year.  GOOD LUCK COACH NOeL!
