Question
hi, i know your a offence coach but i need help I'm a d end who needs help on getting past the O line to tackle the ball carrier. by the way I'm 5'4 170 and I'm in the     7th grade

Answer
Steve you need to be quick off the ball.  Stay low and attack the tackle with your inside arm, using a rip technique.  A rip technique is punching upward with your inside arm so that you push the tackles hands off your chess.  A good d-end only goes 1 and 1.  1 yard deep into the backfield and 1 yard toward the middle of the field.  This 1 yard toward the middle pinches the play so that the offense does not have a good of blocking angles.  Always beware of the pulling gaurd that is assigned to block you.  Take him on and deliever the blow to him, instead of letting him hit you.  GOOD LUCK COACH NOEL!
