Playing Center

My 8yr old son is playing center in tackle football this year. Do you have any tips for him or things we can be practicing at home? Also, when he is hiking the ball should he be looking at the quarterback or at the player in front of him?

Hi Tiffany,

Your son should always be looking at the player in front of him. When he snaps the ball to the qb it needs to be quick and hard. The ball should make a 1/4 turn during the snap so that it hits the qbs hands sideways. Have him practice the snap as much as possible at home. Repitition is the key to improvement.
