My Size

Question
I used to be a running back and really fast but I was severely injured and took a year off from football, now I gained about 30 pounds and I'm now 5'11 188. I heard being overweight greatly reduces speed, so Im trying to lose about 10-20 pounds and become a receiver. What do you suggest I do?

Answer
Tony, I would first like to suggest changing any bad eating habits.  This isn't easy to do but if you are serious about getting ready for next season you will do it.  Stop eating any type of fast food.  Give up drinking pop, and try to mostly, just drink water.  Stop eating after 7 PM.  This is when your metabolism, slows down for the day, eating after 7 will cause the body to store the energy which will then in turn become fat build up.
Start working out at least 3 to 4 times a week.  Lifting and getting stronger.  Also you need to run at least 2 miles every other day.  If you can do all of this you will lose the weight and be ready to be a receiver.  GOOD LUCK COACH NOEL!!
